Josh first began his study of Buddhism and meditation with Tulku Thupten Kalsang Rahob Rinpoche in 2003. After working in restaurants in Austria, France, Italy, and Thailand he learned about a temple in Thailand that focused upon meditation. At Wat Phra Dhammakaya temple Josh spent three years in self-cultivation and monastic-training. He apprenticed in and studied BuddhaDharma directly under the Vice Abbot PhraBhavanwiriyakhun (Luang Por Dattajeevo) his 'gurubacharya', and meditation with Abbot and world-renown meditation master PhraThepyanmahamuni (Luang Por Dhammajayo).
In 2007 while in Thailand, Josh started to study and practice yoga, beginning with the '5 Tibetan Rites' as well as simple asana to balance out and deepen the long hours of meditation practice.
After his long travels, Josh found the community of Frog Lotus Yoga while in search for a local yoga studio. He upholds the studio and the community as a refuge and family to him, which he is most grateful for. Since Thailand the art of Thai massage has been a part of Josh, receiving and picking it up while there. This training took further depth at the Wat Po School of Thai Massage under Yupa Sowat and Aey Karawanon, yet regards with great respect his studies and trainings from Jennifer Yarro of the Triple Gem School of Thai Massage and Noam Tyroler in Thai Medical Acupressure. In 2011, Josh completed his 200hr. Frog Lotus Yoga Teacher Training in Canada under Jennifer Yarro. Since then, he strives to continually deepen the immense knowledge, technique, and philosophy studied during the training into his personal practice and what he shares with others. Josh feels blessed with this opportunity to share, he's honored to be of service to those who find themselves deepening their own practice both inside and out of the studio.
