Nick Atlas (USA) is a RYT/IYF 500-hour certified Yoga, Qigong and JourneyDance instructor, visual artist, author, musician, gardener/naturalist, wilderness guide, Reiki/Qi healer and avid dream-traveler. With over ten years experience in the healing arts, he is widely regarded as a teacher's teacher.
After graduating from Emory University with a degree in social-psychology, Nick spent several years as a professional photographer documenting tribal communication and ritualism at music festivals throughout North America prior to receiving the bulk of his mind/body education in India and Thailand. To date he's traveled to over twenty-five countries and forty-nine US states and has studied with an overwhelming number of gifted teachers, healers, swamis and shamans. In particular he is proud to honor the work of masters Toni Bergins, Stephen Spyrit, Swami Vivekananda Saraswati, Ken Cohen and Paulie Zink.
In 2010 Nick founded the School for Mind & Nature, a nomadic research center dedicated to the advancement of mind/body arts & sciences as universally-accredited forms of preventative and complimentary medicine, as well as prescriptions for the conscious evolution of humankind in the 21st century. The school's primary focus is to instill in practitioners an understanding of interconnectedness between the Self and the Earth, an appreciation for spiritual energy and neo-shamanic practice, and to explore our potential as empowered, mystical beings called to act in light of a critical era in our history.
Nick will be teaching Mindful Movement/Stillness Class & Spherical Flow Class on Sunday evenings in the fall.
