About the Accommodation and Meals
Our newly renovated residency space in the historic Beaver Mill is perfect for trainings. Frog Lotus Yoga now has two floors with 8,000 square feet of space for comfortable group living and dining. The first floor has 4 bedrooms with 2 twin beds, a large commercial kitchen, 3 large wooden dining tables capable of serving 30 people, a large lounge area including pool table, and the oldest part of the mill: the 'well room' overlooking the river for warmer seasonal days. The second floor has 3 bedrooms accommodating twin or full size beds, a large dorm room sleeping 5-10 people, large residential kitchen, lounge area, and yoga studio. Both floors have two bathrooms with stall showers. There are three spaces available in the yoga studio itself. There are hot showers and a small kitchenette at the studio. The accommodations are very pleasant and bright, and retain the historic elements of the Beaver Mill such as exposed beams and original brick work. Bedding is provided.
Lunch and dinner are cooked by an excellent vegetarian chef providing lunch and dinner six days a week. Trainees are responsible for their own breakfast. The food is wholesome, organic, local, delicious and prepared with love from our fabulous cook Elizabeth Parker. Meals are served buffet style and everyone eats together so that meals become a time for relaxing and connecting with the other trainees. The studio also provides tea and water. Sundays are days off for the trainees and the cook. There is always ample food, so trainees may eat leftovers on Sundays or have the opportunity to sample the local cafes. In support of the month-long process, you will be asked to keep a vegetarian diet for the entire time.
Excursions
There are many options for exploring the surrounding community on your days off, such as MASS MoCA (the fabulous Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art), other smaller museums and galleries, outdoor activities (zip-lining, hiking, biking, or rafting), and day-trips to nearby cities, farms, scenic drives, and more! Trainees often organize their own weeknight or weekend gatherings for kirtan, movies, bonfires, or visiting the hot tub at a local spa. And there are a number of great options for massage and chiropractic work that are affordable and close to the studio. We'll be more than happy to help you plan your excursions when you arrive.
