About the Accommodation and Meals
Residential students will be accommodated in a lovely renovated victorian house located a few miles from the studio. All trainees staying in the house will be accommodated in bunk beds. Bedding will be provided. The are 4 bathrooms with showers, a large kitchen, dinning hall, living room and lounge areas. There is wifi in the house for those interested. The house is located in the historic downtown of North Adams and two blocks from the local library. Trainees will have access to the library to study and to use computers. There will be transportation provided for those needed and there is parking available for those with cars. Trainees can also walk or bike to the studio.
Lunch and dinner are cooked by an excellent vegetarian chef providing lunch and dinner six days a week. Trainees are responsible for their own breakfast. The food is wholesome, organic, local, delicious and prepared with love from our fabulous cook Joshua Horne. Meals are served buffet style and everyone eats together so that meals become a time for relaxing and connecting with the other trainees. The studio also provides tea and water. Sundays are days off for the trainees and the cook. There is always ample food, so trainees may eat leftovers on Sundays or have the opportunity to sample the local cafes. In support of the month-long process, you will be asked to keep a vegetarian diet for the entire time.
There are many options for exploring the surrounding community on your days off, such as MASS MoCA (the fabulous Massachusetts Museum of Contemporary Art), other smaller museums and galleries, outdoor activities (zip-lining, hiking, biking, or rafting), and day-trips to nearby cities, farms, scenic drives, and more! Trainees often organize their own weeknight or weekend gatherings for kirtan, movies, bonfires, or visiting the hot tub at a local spa. And there are a number of great options for massage and chiropractic work that are affordable and close to the studio. We'll be more than happy to help you plan your excursions when you arrive.
