200-hour Yoga Teacher Training

This is a comprehensive Yoga instructor training, designed in accordance with the 200 hour requirements for registration with Yoga Alliance. Our program has been running for 14 years and we have graduates all over the world! At the end of the course you will be a Certified Yoga Instructor, eligible to register with Yoga Alliance, simply by sending in a copy of your certificate. You will be qualified to teach BOTH 'Vinyasa Flow Yoga', otherwise known as 'Power Yoga' AND you may also study to teach an easier level of practice for 'Hatha Yoga Interdisciplinary.' This is a rare opportunity to either receive a double certification or choose Hatha or Vinyasa Flow Yoga track. Over 100 poses will be covered in-depth during the training with special attention to anatomical sequencing and skillful assists.

Hatha Yoga Teacher Training

Do you have your 200 hour training and experience of teaching with something like Vinyasa Flow, Kundalini, Hot Yoga, etc? Are you looking to fill out your offering to include a more diverse audience? Teaching Hatha Yoga Interdisciplinary can range from teaching beginners to advanced practitioners. In teaching a Hatha style class, one can dive deep into more educational details of alignment, breath, bandhas, and the intricacies of articulating more variations within an asana to accommodate many folks at the same time. 

 

Within this 50 hour module we will explore the ‘bell curve’ of intelligent sequencing including how to create and structure a class with a proper warm up and cool down that are relevant to the main practice. We will also break down the details of poses to give insights in how to formulate a safe intelligent class. We will explore a range of modifications, use of props, verbal cueing, and demoing to create different levels of classes; beginners, intermediate, advanced, and multi-leveled. We will also discuss how to take each level in a progression to move to their next level of practice by preparing regularly practicing students. 

 

Please note that you must already be a 200 hour certified Yoga Teacher to attend this immersion and you will be asked for a copy of your certificate upon application. This module can be a stand alone immersion and/ or can also be part of the Frog Lotus Yoga International 1000 Hour Program.

Foundations of Thai Massage Level 1

Thai Yoga Massage is a healing art evolving from a combination of various Oriental medical systems while holding its own unique sense of identity with its own modality of Traditional Medicine. It unifies intention, breath, yogic āsana, and massage techniques into a flowing integration of continuous rhythmic motion that provides the receiver with a soothing and revitalizing experience. TYM is based on an understanding of the body’s various layers, focusing on ’sen’ meridian pathways and acupressure points. The practitioner assists to holistically balance the body’s systems, freeing up and removing any blockages that may be present. A proper session of TYM results in restoring a healthy, balanced energetic flow to the recipient. It is a complete therapeutic treatment on its own, and it is easily incorporated into yoga classes or other modalities of physical therapy.

This 25-hour training will cover how to give a full 1.5 – 2 hour massage. Content will include an introduction to TYM history & theory, ’sen’ lines, breath work, meditation, use of proper body mechanics, introductions Thai culture & customs regarding the practice, and self-care through Reusi Dat Ton/Thai Yoga. Prone, supine, and side-lying positions will be addressed as well as transitions and working with different body types. Aside from being able to offer a complete TYM session as a private, you will be able to incorporate these hands-on skills in your yoga classes.

This module can be a stand alone immersion and/ or can also be part of the Frog Lotus Yoga International 1000 Hour Program.

Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training

Do you have your 200 hour teacher training certificate and your experience of teaching with something like Hatha Yoga, Kundalini, Hot Yoga, etc? Are you looking to include a more specific audience for teaching Vinyasa Flow Yoga? Teaching Vinyasa Yoga can range from teaching all-levels to advanced practitioners, from slow flow classes to vigorous Vinyasa. In teaching flow style classes, one can creatively link poses together and set their students up for a safe progressive practice. Having an understanding of detailed alignment and transitions cues, including various pranayama practices, the proper use of bandhas, and the intricacies of articulating more variations can up-level your offering of a well-rounded diverse Vinyasa class.

Incorporating Fitness into Yoga

Weave fitness intelligently, creatively and safely into Your Vinyasa Flow classes with Jennilee Toner!

 

Explore the How To’s, When’s and Why’s of adding Fitness to Your Yoga Sequences. This week-long 50 hour immersion will be a dive deep into anatomy subjects such as bone density, joint stability, muscular strength and fascia health. Intelligent, creative, seamless and safe sequencing will be taught, explored and discussed.

We will begin each day with a one-hour meditation (seated, walking and dynamic will be offered). A two-hour dynamic vinyasa flow practice with emphasis on challenging, strengthening and balancing various systems of the body (musculoskeletal, cardiovascular, respiratory, elimination, immune, etc) will follow. Be prepared to sweat and have fun as you embody your learning!

Two 2.5 hour lectures will be taught most days with subject matters such as: Yoga for Bone Health, Continuous Scan: Joint Mobility AND Muscle Stability, Deep Dive into Multi-Systems of the Human Body, Cross-Training to Support Your Body On- and Off-the-Mat, Benefits of Toning Your Fascia: How to Do It and Why, and Aesthetic Vs Functional Alignment. These are in addition to sequencing workshops that emphasize When, Where and Why you would add a fitness exercise or element.
